One of the newer communities in Dana Point, California, is Ritz Pointe, which overlooks the Monarch Beach Golf Links course and offers a resort style ambiance.
This gated community is comprised of an array of smaller condos and two story houses. All residents share a guard gated entrance, as well as low Home Owners Association dues. There are trails that go throughout the neighborhood to the beach, and along the golf course. Ritz Pointe is considered a walker’s dream because of the many paths.
Ritz Pointe has views of the Pacific Ocean as well as the St. Regis Hotel, the Ritz Carlton, and Salt Creek Beach. Residents enjoy being so close to the shore, and there are many stores, restaurants, and services close by. Within minutes you can be at the Montage Resort in Laguna Beach or the Dana Point Harbor.
Students in Ritz Pointe may attend one of many private schools in the area, including Broderick Montessori School, Capo Beach Christian School, and Gloria Del Lutheran Preschool. The Capistrano Unified School District offers award winning facilities like John Malcom Elementary School, Marco Forster Middle School, and Dana Hills High School which is one of the county’s oldest high schools.
The City of Dana Point is a popular surfing destination as it has one of the few Orange County coast harbors. It was named after Richard Henry Dana, Jr. who wrote Two Years Before the Mast, describing this area as the “only romantic spot on the coast.” The harbor is now bustling with activity, and features a replica of the Pilgrim, Dana’s ship. Dana Point holds several events including the Festival of Whales that began in 1972, and the Tall Ships Festival, which is one of the largest events on the West Coast. The Dana Point Symphony, which has a 50-piece orchestra, sponsors local soloists for its many musical concerts.
